Does anyone remember a Winnie the Pooh series with a man in a costume?

I swear that in the early 1990's, I would watch episodes where we'd zoom in on someone in their library and they'd open up their Winnie the Pooh book, and then the action would have Winnie as a man in a costume. However, no one else seems to remember, and I can't find any proof of it through my google searching. Do I just have it confused with something else?
