Why is the FDA just now "investigating" 'Four Loko'?

Shouldn't they have investigated it BEFORE it was put on the shelves? How long has that extremely potent alcoholic drink (seems like crack) been on the market anyway??? I had never even heard of it before. Kids are getting their hands on it and drinking it like it's Pepsi. A guy at Temple had a heart attack from it, and some kids at a party had to be taken to the hospital after chugging it down. The news said that it's like drinking numerous cans of a beer in one can and it's mixed with caffeine. Sheesh. People really don't know what their kids are drinking/smoking out there. Looks like it's very easy for them to get too.

It's an alcoholic beverage, presumably consumed by adults.
